III. North German Silhouette Grand Prix 2023

Tradition, Team Spirit, and Marksmanship – a strong year for the Steinhorsters!

2023 was a real highlight for the Steinhorst Silhouette Shooters: new events, full starting fields, exciting competitions – and lots of fun. From the legendary Mettigel Shooting to the Hike & Shoot and the internationally attended Silhouette Grand Prix, the year was marked by passion and community. We are incredibly happy to have been part of this strong team – and say thank you for a year full of precision, dedication, and action!

Time for a brief year in review...

The year 2023 was also accompanied by success and joy for the Steinhorst Silhouette Shooters.
I would like to particularly highlight the events we hosted and the athletic achievements of our community.

In January, the "Mettigel Shooting" was held for the first time at the SG Steinhorst shooting range. Several shooters from the region gathered here for a great air rifle competition in a family atmosphere. Air rifles with scopes were used, at various distances of up to 50m. Afterwards, a giant "Mettigel" (minced pork hedgehog) was "killed" by all participants. 

In February, the "Hike & Shoot" took place for the third time.
This is a combination of hiking and shooting. Shooting was done at metal silhouettes according to IMSSU rules.
Furthermore, in the same month, the first "Ahle Wurscht" Cup was held at the Field Target Club Nordhessen. A Field Target tournament where the sausage was the prize. 
We were also present with a larger delegation here.

June was marked by the Alpencup 2023 in Kufstein.
For the fifth year in a row, the Steinhorst shooters met at the Field Target Centre Inntal.

For the III. North German Silhouette Grand Prix, shooters and outdoor enthusiasts from five nations traveled to Steinhorst in September. The three-day tournament was, as in previous years, a complete success and will be held again in Steinhorst in 2024.
At this point, a very big thank you goes again to our two main sponsors "Odenwolf" (www.wolfgangs.de) and Hitx (www.hitx.eu), who contributed significantly to the success of this unique event with many high-quality prizes.

With the Herkules Open 2023 in Melsungen, our shooters took part in the last major Field Target event of the year in November.

In addition to the great events, the many training Sundays (Silhouette regulars' tables) should not go unmentioned, as they have brought us closer together over the years.
